5.0 out of 5 stars Insulated, large, sturdy., June 16, 2011

I already have a smaller Hydro Flask bottle, and it's excellent. But I wanted something that held at least a quart, as 24 ounces just isn't enough on a hot day. I was concerned that this bottle would be too heavy to lug around, seeing as it's made of two layers of steel. It's actually quite light for its size, even full. It's sturdy and attractive, and I like that the lid is attached. I would have preferred a lid I could drink from, like a sippy cup, but that probably would have reduced it's thermal function.
My other concern was the price; it's not cheap. But then I remembered all the water bottles I've accumulated over the years, (I have Contigo AUTOSEAL Water Bottle - 32 oz. - Blue, ... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Exellent, December 4, 2011

Granted I've only had it for 2-3 weeks so far, I'm really digging it. It's very large, which means it's not something you'd take the gym but is great for pretty much any other endeavor. If you fill it with ice, you will still have ice 24 hours later, even using it rather aggressively (I drink water pretty much all day every day). I haven't had trouble over tightening the cap and not being able to get it open, as I have with other water bottles. The large mouth can obviously take large ice cubes.

The only problem I see in the future is possibly scratching or scuffing the powder coat, I guess if you're worried about that get the stainless version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily the best water bottle I have ever used & I have used a lot, August 9, 2011
I was going to buy this here, but I found a better price on another site. I have tried a lot of different water bottles over the years. In my experience the insulated plastic bottles just don't insulate as well as the stainless steel ones and the stainless steel ones are either too large and bulky to take to work or don't hold enough liquid. Because they are relatively compact and hold a lot of water, I have been using the uninsulated Nalgene bottles and keeping my water cold by filling it to the rim with ice and then adding water. After a couple of hours though the ice is melted, the outside is dripping with sweat, and I have to go back to the kitchenette to refill it if I want more cold water. I wasn't really sure what to expect in terms of size & the ability to insulate when I bought this bottle since it is insulated steel & it holds 40oz compared to the 32oz Nalgene bottles (which actually hold around 36oz, but who's counting?). When I got it I was surprised at how compact... Read more
